How to easily hardcode (burn in) .srt subtitles to video file on PC (free encoder!)

There are different options to burn in your subtitles. You can do it through your editing software (like with Avid) or use some external soft.
I use Any Video Converter to hardcode subtitles into the film. It's free.
The older version (3.3.1) works better for me than the recent 5.5.5 as it shows subtitles preview (which helps when you have subtitles in different strange languages, as my Georgian example).
Below you could find simple step-by step instruction how to do it.

1. Import your files.

2. You will see you video with information about duration, frame size, codec, frame rate.

3. Adjust your video settings.
If you want to leave the file almost the same quality, enter the same codec, frame size and fps.
For bitrate enter the same you have with original  file. To check what bitrate you have see in Explorer window (sometimes it shows), if not use MediaInfo (it's free and useful)
Encoding pass: to preserve quality choose 2, to do job faster (and loose quality) choose 1.

4. Add subtitle file. Subtitle file should be in the same folder as video and have the same name. When you click on subtitle row you will see list and choose your subtitle file.

5. Preview if subtitles appear correctly.
6. Then convert!
