Open Avid MC project in Edius via EDL

I had to connect project from Avid MC 5 and Edius 5 or 6. What I found out that not each edl type works properly... Someties Edius just doesnt want to open it. So here what I've found out after some long experiments.

AVID MCTo export EDL from Avid MC:
go to EDl manager and "Get sequence"

The best settings in EDL Manager.
EDL type GVG 7.0_7.0 or GVG 4.1_6.0
Record TC 25 (it was my frame rate)
Switcher gvg_100.
Choose only one track (V1 OR A1 OR A2)

In Edius:
Import Project --> EDL
EDL type is BVE9100
you can create new sequence if you need.

The sequence will import in Edius timeline.

Now you have to reconnect files. Choose "Open the clip restoration dialog..."
It doesn't remember any source names, only reel names, so you have to know what files are in you timeline. Uncheck "Link only files that match exactly" and show your files.
(I had problem with this in Edius 5 ,as it doesn't have "match exactly" and you can't uncheck it then... So had to switch to Edius 6)

Than make the same steps to other tracks (audio for example)

! It is also important to note, that GVG (Grass Valley) EDL doesn't accetp reel names longer than 6 characters.

If this post helped you, I will be glad to hear from you in comments!
