When you want to apply same effect to few different clips in timeline in Avid:
1. General effects:
1) Select clip with effect you want to copy, open Effects palette
2) Click on the small violet icon and drag it to the bin. Now you have your effect settings saved to the bin. You can rename it whatever you want.
3) You can apply it for any clip in the project just by selecting clip and double-clicking on the effect in the bin.
2. Matte key.
The idea is the same as in General effects, but while dragging the icon from the Effect pallete, hold Alt key, this way the parameters will be copied without the sourse.
